Welcome to the home of Rapid Banta B FC, the only place to get the latest news on what is going on at the club. The team was founded in the summer of 2004 as Marc Abrahams split from mentor Joff Field to form a new squad, part of whom had been mates since school, and the other part were returnees from Manchester University. Rapid Banta B became the first franchisee of club Rapid Banta, a decision taken in order to benefit from sharing the various costs and administrative burdens that are associated with running an amateur football club. As it turns out, the B team has been especially successful, having finished second in the Maccabi (Southern) Football League division five in season 2004/05, and being rewarded with double promotion. Then in season 2005/06 Banta B secured another second placed finish, sufficient to gain promotion to division 2. Season 2006/07 turned into a consolidation season as, despite some good results, Banta B struggled for consistency and finished just below mid table. Season 2007/08 was one of unfulfilled promise after the two Banta squads merged into one. Now with two years of experience in the division, everyone at the club anticipates a strong promotion push in 2008/09. This site is a source for players and fans alike to track the progress of Rapid Banta B throughout the football season. |
